What to do in Malaga in just 1 day

Although visiting the city of Malaga in just 1 day is really something “rare”, it is not an impossible task. It is clear that we recommend spending at least 3 days in this incredible city that is considered the capital of the Costa del Sol. However, if you don’t have time for more, we recommend an essential route to get to know Malaga capital in 1 day.

The ideal is to start with a walk through the historic center

1- You cannot miss your photo with our most international artist Pablo Ruiz Picasso who is in front of «La casa Picasso» in the famous Plaza de la Merced.

2- Visit the Roman Theater and the Alcazaba of Malaga (A walk of 1 hour and a half).

3- Walk the path to its divine Cathedral (La Santa Iglesia Catedral Basilica de la Encarnación)

4- Walk through its small and charming streets until you reach Molina Larios street (the main street of the city, always bustling and full of corners and fashionable shops)

5- Obligatory stop at the Atarazanas market, built in the building in which there were old Nasrid shipyards from the 14th century.

6- Stop to savor a good sweet Malaga wine and a mixed fry at the traditional El Pimpi restaurant. The best value for money in the city and the most authentic in all of Malaga

7- In the afternoon, go up to visit the Gibralfaro Castle located in the upper part of the city, nothing better than that walk to lose the calories previously acquired with the exquisite Andalusian food.

The sacrifice will pay off when you enjoy spectacular panoramic views of Malaga and its surroundings from the walls of the Gibralfaro Castle.

7- Go down towards the Alameda Principal where its modern port (Muelle Uno) which houses the Pompidou Museum extends. There you can go for a walk, have a beer, coffee … .. appreciating the wonderful sunset of this city.
